Tjeerd Elzinga and Miep van Hees are the proud owners of Waterland Quarterhorses. In 1996 they moved to this farm in the center of Holland. In all these years, the farm is changed to a small paradise for horses. Tjeerd and Fenna take care of the horse ranch. Fenna is training the horses and showing them on horse shows. Tjeerd takes care that everything looks great!

Tjeerd is a organic farmer and had for many years a organic compost company. He is still a expert for organic compost and leads different projects around the world for the Dutch Government.

Fenna is right now very succesfull with her stud 'Smokin Kills'. This year (2009) is not over yet, but they are allready NRHA European Champion Intermediate Non Pro and were at the Italian Derby 5th in the Intermediate Non Pro and 10th in the Non Pro. Besides that they won this year allready 5 NRHA Trophy's. In the previous years they were the NRHA Futurity Bit Non Pro Champion, DQHA Futurity Champion and DQHA Reserve Maturity Champion. With the mare 'Holidoc Hickups' she was also succesful at international Reining shows. They were   World Open Reserve Champion Senior Reining Non Pro, European Reserve Champion Limited Non Pro. They were also third on the European Championships 2006 in the Non Pro (score 218,5) and there are multiple NRHA Trophy Winner.  Fenna met 'Holidoc Hickups'

Fenna started riding when she was 8 years old. When she was 12 she started riding western and showed her mare 'Miss Little Bit Blue' succesfully during her youth. Together they were 13 times Dutch Champion in Pleasure/Trail/Horsemanship/Showmanship. Also they have won many different international allround titles.

Fenna was a teammember of the Dutch Youth Team for 4 years. With that team she showed at The Youth World Cup in 2000 in Italy and 2002 in Amarillo, Texas. At the Youth World Cup in 2000 Fenna won two golden Medals in Pleasure and Trail and was Youth World Cup Champion Pleasure. At the 2002 Youth World Cup in Amarillo, Texas she became a Reserve Youth World Cup Champion Western Riding.

Every summer, since she was 14 years old, Fenna went to Nedpoint Quarterhorses, (Ruben van Dorp) Oklahoma, USA. In the meantime she trained with Peter Simons, Mireille van Soldt and Karin van Bekkum. From July 2005 till April 2006 Fenna was in training with Rudi Kronsteiner in Germany and he coached her succesfully at international reiningshows.

From August 2006 till August 2007 Fenna was assistent trainer at Michael Saupe Performance Horses. The Apprentice Program from the NRHA gave her the possibility to be a professional co-trainer for a year. In October 2007 she decided to go back to the Non Pro. Because of the Apprentice Program, she didn't had to wait for 3 till 5 years. In 2007 she decided the go to the University in Amsterdam and in August 2009 she graduated on got her Masters Degree in Science.
